I have been sitting with my sweet niece recently, and she is such a joy to be around. Yesterday, very innocently, she pointed to herself and said; “I love me!”
I laughed and said that was very wise. She then went on to say just as exuberantly; “I love you and I love me!” I told her, “I love me and I love you too!”
She then proceeded to hug me and wanted to spend time giving me Eskimo kisses.
That moment with her reminded me of the simple love our heavenly Father wants to show us and how important His time with us is to him.
I was reminded of the scripture in 1 John (3:18tpt) that says; Beloved children, our love can’t be an abstract theory we only talk about, but a way of life demonstrated through our loving deeds.
That brief moment with Charly had a greater demonstration of the effect that love has on humanity than all the hours of listening someone speaking to me by charts and graphs showing me statistically how love can change the world. I felt the change within my heart and hers as we laughed together at just her innocent declaration that she was feeling loved at that moment. Love for herself and for others.
Today ask our Father above to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your love to those around you. It may be as simple as declaring that you love & forgive yourself and that by loving yourself you can open your heart up to love others.
