These are lyrics to an older worship song we used to sing in church. They have never been more relevant in my life than they are right now. I believe that I am on the precipice of great and exciting changes in my life.
Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not a morning person, but today with the excitement of getting to work, I woke up at 6 something AM and couldn’t go back to sleep for the knowledge that I am getting to do what I am doing.
I could say all the inspirational things you’re supposed to say about the lessons I have learned, or the journey that has to lead me to this place and I know that they all are true, but for me, I just want to live in this moment and be happy.
All that I will say is following after my creator and redeemer has been an amazing adventure. The one who formed me and designed me to be exactly how I am knows how to lead me to places that have been beyond my scope of thought.
30 years ago I met a man and said yes to sharing my life with him and this has opened doors in me to what it means to live a creative life. The people that God has brought into my life even those that may not realize the impact they have made. I carry them in my being to pour out into this new season of opportunity.
In the movie, Field of Dreams, it was whispered in Kevin Costner’s character; “if you build it they will come”. This morning, as I sit in the early morning quietness, I ponder on the building. The energy and excitement of building something and watching it grow. So today as I go about my day building a dream, it is my prayer that they will come. That it will not be about me or my journey, but about each person and the journey that God has them on and that as we join together the Holy Spirit will join with us and create something of beauty for all the world to see and want to draw closer to Him.
