Observation

Last Saturday I went with a friend of mine to see her granddaughters ballet recital.  The place was full of families coming to watch their loved ones show all they had learned over the past year.  I loved watching the 4 year olds and truly even up to the 7 years olds lose all track of what they were suppose to be doing because they spot Grandma or Grandpa out in the audience and just waved at them.  I was reminded of the differences and simularities in these beautiful little girls and the beautiful little girls in Thailand that are even at that age being sold into the sex trade industry.  My friends granddaughter found out I was there and wanted me to come back into the green room and show me her pretty dress and to hear me tell her how wonderful she was.  She just wanted to know that she was loved and accepted.  I was reminded of all the girls in the bars in Thailand that sell their bodies every night.  Dreaming that one day they will be a Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman and some man from the west will come and rescue them.  To give them value and worth.  To tell them they are loved and accepted.

Today I went to the dentist and he asked me when the last time I had had my teeth cleaned.  I embarrassingly responded, “Nineteen years.”  He said, “Your teeth are in good shape.”  I was shocked I was expecting a lot had to be done.  I thought of Ps. 91:14  The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.  God has supernaturally provided for my family in provision as well as health.  It became true to me once again that God really is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Do your really believe that your prayers make a difference in not only your own life but also in the lives of others in the world? Do you really believe that what you give impacts those that you give to as well as impacting your own life?  Today I was reminded that the steps of a righteous person ARE ordered of the Lord.  God has supernaturally watched over  my teeth for 19 years because of my giving, prayers and just flat out devotion to Him.  Fourteen incredible young men that we have decided to sow into their lives are reaching out and changing the lives of young girls in Thailand.  (You can read about this at www.theworldrace.org or http://vimeo.com/12015755)  Today while reading blogs and just visiting the dentist I was reminded that what we do, pray, give, say and declare is REAL and makes a difference in the lives of others as well as our own lives.

As I sat in that auditorium watching those little girls dance around, I talked to God a lot about those little girls in Thailand. I prayed for the 40 incredible young people (www.theworldrace.org-J squad) and what they are doing this month.  The girls going in every night to the bars to tell those selling their bodies that there is another way and there is hope for their life.  The guys doing construction and also playing with little girls even as young as 3 that have been rescued from the sex trade industry.

I guess I wanted to write this blog to challenge you to realize that, you can make a difference!  You can change the world.  Your prayers are effective.  Every cent that you give toward God’s kingdom as He leads has an impact.  Don’t stop your prayers because you can’t go to Thailand or Cambodia or Kenya or Nigeria or any other place God drops in your heart.  Don’t stop giving because times are tough and your amount doesn’t seem significant to you.  It is SIGNIFICANT to someone!    You are important to the kingdom of God and He desires to use you.
